IHH Healthcare Malaysia (IHH Malaysia), a leading healthcare provider dedicated to delivering world-class healthcare services is excited to launch its new initiative, ‘Act Sooner, Live Better,’ which highlights the importance of early medical intervention in Heart, Cancer, and Bone and Joint care.
For the benefit of Penangites, the ‘Act Sooner, Live Better’ roadshow will take place at the Gurney Plaza Shopping Mall from June 5th to 9th, 2024.
This initiative not only promotes timely diagnosis and treatments, but also showcases the advanced technologies, specialized treatments, and expert care available in these key areas to improve health outcomes.
According to the National Health and Morbidity Survey 2019, only 49 percent of Malaysians underwent health screenings, highlighting the urgent need for increased awareness about the importance of regular check-ups. Furthermore, heart disease remains the leading cause of premature deaths in Malaysia, comprising 18.4% of medically certified deaths in 2022, according to the Department of Statistics Malaysia. Similarly, cancer rates have increased from 10.5% in 2021 to 12.6% in 2022. Additionally, more people are experiencing issues with their bones and joints, often due to inactive lifestyles.
