Icon of the Seas – world’s largest cruise ship

The Icon of the Seas, the world’s largest ship is set to embark on its maiden voyage on January 27, 2024.

Helming the mega cruise ship is Captain Henrik Loy who comes with 25 years experience in the cruise industry. 

The Icon of the Seas, a ship five times larger than the Titanic, will start its inaugural journey from Miami, Florida.

The vessel, owned by the Royal Caribbean company, has docked at Ponce, Puerto Rico, for regulatory inspections before its first voyage. 

The ship, with 20 decks, can accommodate 5,610 passengers and 2,350 crew members. It features 40 restaurants, a large swimming pool, a water park with six slides, and a total of 2,805 rooms across 14 different categories. 

The Icon of the Seas was delivered to Royal Caribbean in Finland on November 27, 2023, and its maiden voyage will take it to the Caribbean. 

The ship has garnered attention for its impressive size, weighing 250,800 tons and standing at a height of 1,198 feet.
