The Indian Association of Penang (IA) hosted an evening of music and appreciation recently at their premises.
The dinner gathering was to show appreciation to the top Malaysian music icon, Dato’ David Arumugam along with the special recognition for IAP members who received the 2025 state awards from the Governor of Penang.
A total of 13 IA members had received their awards at the investiture ceremony.
Meanwhile, the popular David Arumugam who is the lead singer of the Alleycats band is a… figure with all masses of the community.
His songs are a fine example of music transcending race, religion and culture. Among the popular hits are “Andainya Aku Pergi Dulu,” “Setelah Kau Tiada,” and “Sekuntum Mawar Merah Sebuah Puisi” and many more.
The event also saw the presentation of laptops to university students from underprivileged backgrounds which were sponsored by the governor club member, Dato Seri Dr K. Arunasalam.
The evening included a live musical presentation which went well with the audience.
