HP Malaysia unveiled the HP Malaysia Manufacturing Transformation Center at its Batu Kawan facility in Penang yesterday.

This 4,639-square-foot center marks a pivotal milestone in advancing Industry 4.0 and fostering sustainable manufacturing practices.

Present were a host of representatives from InvestPenang, Penang Skills Development Centre (PSDC) and Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) as honorary guests, underscoring the collaboration between HP and public and private partners to elevate Malaysia’s manufacturing landscape.

On hand to welcome them was Alex Tan, Managing Director of HP Inc. Malaysia and Dominic Chew, General Manager of HP Malaysia Manufacturing.

“HP’s presence in Malaysia dates back to 1972, making us one of the pioneer investors in Penang’s industrial growth. Over the past 40 years, Malaysia has become an integral part of HP’s global operations, not just as a strategic manufacturing hub, but as a partner in our shared vision of progress.

“At HP, our mission is simple but powerful: to create technology that inspires ambitious and meaningful progress. In a rapidly changing world, we remain steadfast in our commitment to accelerating innovation— not only to seize new opportunities but to address the challenges of tomorrow.

“Being Future Ready is central to our business strategy. We are committed to driving innovation and delivering products and services that our customers need to thrive in a rapidly evolving world. Together, we aim to grow, adapt, and succeed.

“A key pillar of this strategy is Future Ready Operations, which focuses on strengthening our organisation to stay ahead in the digital age, while ensuring sustainable and efficient business practices that meet the demands of today and tomorrow.

“Just as important as the technology, is the people behind it. At HP, we believe that digital transformation begins with workforce readiness. That’s why at HPMM, we continue to invest heavily in upskilling our employees, preparing them to excel in the modern manufacturing landscape. After all, our people are the driving force behind our success”, said Tan in his address.

Guests later toured the plant to get to know the facilities better and technology there.
