Hotel NEO+ Penang and SEGi College Penang have formalised a strategic partnership through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at nurturing future talent for the hospitality industry.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dato’ Gulab Mahatam Rai, General Manager of Hotel NEO+ Penang, and Dr Leong Mi-Chelle, Principal of SEGi College Penang.
In his welcoming speech, Gulab described the occasion as a significant milestone that strengthens the partnership between the two organisations and reaffirms their commitment to future collaborations.
“We firmly believe that this alliance will create valuable opportunities, foster growth and deliver lasting mutual benefits for both organisations,” he said.
Gulab added that the partnership will provide SEGi College students with opportunities to undergo practical training at Hotel NEO+ Penang.
“It aims to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world industry experience, allowing students to gain hands-on exposure in serving actual guests and operating within a professional hospitality environment.

“This training will also help instil the discipline, work ethic and professional attitude essential for successful careers in the industry,” he added.
He concluded by expressing his appreciation to all parties involved in making the event a success.
Meanwhile, Dr Leong highlighted the significance of the collaboration, noting that it marks another meaningful step in the college’s commitment to developing future-ready hospitality professionals.
“I would like to express our sincere appreciation to Dato’ Gulab Mahatam Rai, General Manager, and James Ang, Front Office Manager of Hotel NEO+ Penang, for your support and for believing in the potential of our students.
