The Hard Rock Hotel Penang is organising the “Jom Sorak” fest, a vibrant celebration of Malaysian music with a philanthropic purpose.

It is taking place on 3 – 4 August 2024, this exciting two-day event will be held from 12.30 pm to 10.00 pm at the Hard Rock Cafe and Sand Stage within the hotel.

Jom Sorak features an impressive lineup of local artists and bands, including Zahid AF and Mimi Fly, both volunteers from the Red Ribbon Celebrity Supporters (RRCS).

The music festival also includes local bands such as The Penneo, Key Project, Sunset Boulevard, After Midnight, Bunga Raya, After Dark, Minus Band, Nash & Co, Acidic Bunch, The Brothers, Mael & The Clan, Niskala, Saikorama, Wild Marigold, The Wonders, Mfellaz, Somebody Who, and Treszies. 

These performances will highlight the rich diversity and extraordinary talent within the Malaysian music scene.

Additional event highlights include free access to the hotel’s pool for all ticket holders (guests are required to bring their own towels), complimentary entry for in-house guests, and free entry for children 12 years old and below when accompanied by an adult.

The Malaysian AIDS Foundation, established in 1993 and fully incorporated in 2003, aims to prevent the spread of HIV in Malaysia, provide education on HIV/AIDS, support People Living with HIV, protect human rights, and offer financial assistance to organisations like the Malaysian AIDS Council (MAC).

The Red Ribbon Celebrity Supporters (RRCS), are a group of diverse local celebrities who have pledged their voluntary support to the cause against the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The program, launched in 2008 by the MAC and MAF has successfully influenced public opinion about HIV and AIDS and imparted correct knowledge about HIV prevention through popular culture. Notable RRCS members include Vanidah Imran, Dato’ Chef Ismail, Deborah Henry, Sean Ghazi, Winnie K, Aanantha Rajaram and Muadz Dzulkefly.
