A team from the Hard Rock Hotel Penang led by their general manager Michael Smeeton and their management team paid a visit to the residents of Penang Handicapped Welfare Association (Pertubuhan Kebajikan Insan Penyayang Pulau Pinang) recently.

The aim of the visit was to bring some cheer to the residents there in conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year and the Year of the Horse.

The entourage consisted of staff from the various departments of the hotel. They also brought along lunch prepared by the hotel’s Food & Beverage team.

The team members also mingled with the inmates and handed out oranges and red packets to them.

Beyond the celebration, the team also took time to better understand the caretakers and residents and to review the living space where the hotel will be sponsoring the installation of a new window to improve the ventilation and comfort for the residents.

Founded in 2010, the centre provides shelter, care and training for individuals with mental and physical challenges. As a non-profit organisation, their work continues through the generosity of the local community.
