Gurney Paragon Mall officially kicked off the festive season with the launch of its enchanting “Christmas Reimagined” celebration.

The ceremony was officiated by Tourism Malaysia Northern Region Director, Abdul Hadi Che Man, alongside Ms. Khor Tze Ming, Executive Director of Hunza Group, and their team members.

Children from the Guardian of Ruyi Children’s Home were invited as special guests to witness the lighting of the mall’s majestic 35-foot Christmas tree, which marked the start of a season filled with wonder, joy, and togetherness.

Also in attendance were Ms. Koay Bee Fong, Chief Operating Officer of Gurney Paragon Mall; Ms. Ong Lay Keow, Guardian of Ruyi Children’s Home; Ms. Mean Lie Wei, Outlet Manager of Ban Bu Dian; and Ms. Joyce Liew, Salon Manager of Dr. Hauschka, among others.

This year’s festive theme transforms the mall’s atrium into a whimsical fairytale wonderland, adorned in soft pink, gold, and champagne tones illuminated by twinkling fairy lights. A charming child’s slide takes centre stage — symbolizing childlike joy and serving as a reminder that the heart of Christmas lies in simple, meaningful moments amid the holiday rush.

“At Gurney Paragon Mall, our vision extends beyond retail. We aim to be a community hub where families and visitors come together to celebrate moments that matter,” said Ms. Khor Tze Ming during her address.

“The spirit of Christmas gives us a meaningful opportunity to inspire togetherness and create lasting memories.”

She also shared that several new brands will soon open at the mall, further enhancing its appeal as a premier lifestyle destination.

Meanwhile, Abdul Hadi emphasized Tourism Malaysia’s ongoing commitment to promoting Malaysia as a leading retail and tourism hub, especially as the nation prepares for Visit Malaysia 2026.

“Tourism Malaysia remains dedicated to strengthening collaborations that enhance our tourism offerings,” he said.

“Retail tourism, in particular, plays a vital role in tourist spending and overall satisfaction. When visitors take home stories of memorable experiences — like today’s festive celebration — it helps promote Malaysia as a must-visit destination. I am confident that Gurney Paragon Mall will continue to serve as an important hub for enriching experiences in Penang.”

The event also featured a captivating dance performance, “Tidings of Joy: A Dance of the Christmas Spirit”, by the Penang Modern Dance Ensemble (Euphoria) — a group founded and funded by the Penang State Government and proudly supported by Hunza Group.

Throughout the season, Gurney Paragon Mall will host a range of festive campaigns and family-friendly activities:
