To add more vibrancy to the tourism sector here, the Grand Orient Hotel & Laguna Waterpark and Bonuslink Loyalty Card held a signing ceremony to join forces with their Elite Partnership Programme.
Guest of honour was State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy, YB Yeoh Soon Hin accompanied by Penang Global Tourism (PGT) chief executive officer, Ooi Chok Yan, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) Penang director, Jonathan Freddy Bagang, Tourism Malaysia Northern director Shahrul Aman Sabir Ahmad and his deputy Siti Hajar, Malaysian Association of Hotels Penang chapter chairman and Light hotel general manager, Raj Kumar and Dato Oon Weng Boon founder of Island Landcap Hospitality and James Chang, hotel manager of Grand Orient Hotel.
Lending support were Iconic general manager, Kevin Cheah, Sunway Georgetown and Seberang Prai general manager, Prakash Kumeran and Aroma Hotel Butterworth general manager Tan Hock Khiam.
Representing Bonuslink was their CEO Melvin Ooi and Alia Riza, Executive Commercial Business and their team.
“I have always stressed the partnership of all parties in the tourism and hospitality industry so as to rebound our business operations.
“Our Penang Tourism Master Plan 2021-2030, ensures sustainability as one key pillar of tourism development and more balanced development in terms of tourism products between both areas- the island and Seberang Prai.
“This partnership is one such initiative. As the international borders open in April 2022, we are looking forward to tourists being able to indulge in the rich cultural heritage and diversity here,” said Yeoh in his speech.
Meanwhile, Dato Oon added that In preparation for the reopening of the international borders, they have upgraded our rooms and facilities.
“To this regard we also thank YB Yeoh for all his efforts to promote Tourism and tourism players and stakeholders,” said Oon.
Meanwhile, Melvin Ooi added that they have some 13.7 million members and members can redeem hotel stays and entry tickets to the theme park.
“Bonuslink will help attract more tourists and add value for travellers,” he added.
The Grand Orient Hotel has 43 lavish rooms and suites that combine the one of the kind Amazon themed hospitality and the Laguna water park for guests and their family to enjoy.
