Residents in Taman Samak had their restoration of the roof while those in Taman Abidin got their road resurfaced and also underwent a repainting project respectively.
Both tamans are under the Datuk Keramat constituency. The initiative is in line with the state government policy of ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of the residential areas.
State Exco for Housing Local Government, Town and Country Planning YB Jagdeep Singh Deo along with the Member of Parliament (MP) for Jelutong, YB RSN Rayer were on hand to announce the good news.
They were greeted by the management committee team of the Taman.
IN his address, Jagdeep added that the state government will continue to offer affordable homes to the needy.
“The availability of affordable homes will continue to be prioritised. To-date we have achieved 148,351such affordable housing ranging from Rent to Own, Low Cost, Low Medium Cost and others.
“This includes assistance for maintenance of such housing. To-date 35,417 upgrading projects have been implemented at a cost of RM342 million for such schemes.
“We will also continue to engage the Federal Government to assist, to-date we have received RM9.62 million for such maintenance projects,” he added.
