Gleneagles Hospital Penang welcomed approximately 30 members of the media—including journalists, key opinion leaders (KOLs), influencers and writers—for an immersive and interactive event titled the “Metaverse Health Hunt & Media Tour.” at its ballroom.
The event, held yesterday in Penang, aimed to provide a unique experience that combined digital innovation with real-world healthcare insights.
Guests were warmly received by the hospital’s Acting Chief Executive Officer, Ng Boog Seng, alongside S. Shyamsunder, Head of Sales & Marketing, Ms. Aileen Foo, Senior Manager of Sales & Marketing, and their dedicated team.

In his welcoming speech, Ng expressed appreciation for the media’s continued support and highlighted the hospital’s ongoing efforts to embrace innovation and patient-centric care.
The event kicked off with an engaging metaverse health hunt—a digital competition that allowed media attendees to virtually explore various aspects of the hospital’s services and departments.
The interactive activity served as both an informative and entertaining introduction to the hospital’s offerings.
Several lucky participants walked away with attractive prizes as winners of the health hunt, adding a layer of excitement to the event.

Following the virtual experience, the media team was taken on an exclusive, in-person tour of the hospital’s facilities, including its specialized departments, advanced medical technologies and patient care areas.
This gave attendees an opportunity to witness first-hand the hospital’s commitment to clinical excellence and innovation.
The event concluded with a networking lunch, offering attendees a relaxed setting to connect, share insights, and strengthen relationships between the hospital team and the media community.
