The G Hotel in Penang is paving its way to normalcy as the tourism industry slowly picks up welcoming back tourists and business travelers by redefining their ongoing safety standards by working with various associations as well as the government bodies to ensure that the hotel is in accordance with the SOP’s set.
This was evident when their general manager, Michael Hanratty received the “Clean & Safe Malaysia” Hygiene & Safety Label by Malaysian Associations of Hotels (MAH) and Penang’s Tourism and Creative Economy office (Petace) under the Travel Safe Alliance Malaysia (TSAM) for both G Hotel Gurney and G Hotel Kelawai.
Besides being the first industry-specific accreditation programme in Malaysia, it is also TSAM’s travel solution certified by Bureau Veritas Certification Malaysia.
The state Tourism and Creative Economy (Petace) office opened its doors to work with Travel Safe Alliance Malaysia (TSAM) to further boost Penang’s travel market confidence and held the unveiling of TSAM’s logo recently at G Hotel Gurney.
The TSAM, which was launched in October this year, comprises of the Malaysian Association of Convention and Exhibition Organizers and Suppliers (MACEOS), Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH), Malaysian Association Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) and airlines under the Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) consisting of Malaysia Airlines, Firefly and MASwings.
“We hope that Malaysians will visit Penang to re-discover its many popular attractions, immerse in unique cultural experiences, have a big shopping expedition & taste all the local delicacies. But above all, to make ‘G Hotel’ their home away from home once again,” added Michael Hanratty.
