The Member of Parliament for Bukit Gelugor YB Ramkarpal Singh has launched free tuition classes for children in his constituency.

Beginning today (April 7, 2025), some 129 students who had registered earlier will attend these classes.

Classes will be held for Bahasa Melayu, Bahasa Inggeris, Sains and Matematik every day except Tuesdays at Pusat Khidmat Ahli Parlimen Bukit Gelugor.

“It gives me great pride to announce the launch of the 2025 Free Tuition Programme, an initiative close to my heart, grounded in the belief that education must be accessible to all, not just to those who can afford it.

“This community-driven effort reflects our commitment to creating equal opportunities for every child in Bukit Gelugor, regardless of their background or circumstances,” said Ramksrpal.

He added that since the programme’s humble beginnings in 2024, it has become more than just tuition—it has become a beacon of hope for students striving for a better future. With core subjects including Bahasa Melayu, Bahasa Inggeris, Sains, and Matematik, we have seen students grow in confidence, competence, and courage.

“Students will learn in a comfortable, air-conditioned environment, supported with free printed materials to aid their learning journey.

“This programme would not be possible without the unwavering dedication of our five passionate tutors and three volunteer support staff, who give their time and energy to uplift the community’s children. Their work embodies the spirit of service and solidarity.

“Our investment in this programme goes far beyond classrooms and textbooks—it is an investment in our youth, our future, and the values we uphold as a society. Education is the foundation of empowerment, and through this initiative, we aim to nurture a generation that dares to dream and has the means to achieve it.

“I extend my deepest gratitude to every tutor, volunteer, parent, and supporter who believes in this cause. Together, we are building not just better students but a stronger, fairer community,” said Ramksrpal in his address.
