The Conservatory, Spice Market Restaurant at the Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa in Langkawi was the perfect setting for the premium wine pairing dinner treat by the Ferraton Pere & Fils French wine group.
In all, some 30 guests attended the gathering which was led by Brand Ambassador – Jean-Christophe Sapet. They gathered for a cocktail session prior to the dinner proper on the beach which offered a wonderful sunset.
Also present was the general manager of the resort, Neoh Kean Boon and his team along with the managing director of S.H. Maju Sdn Bhd, Alfred Low.
The dinner treat showcased the tantalising flavours of the Indian and South East Asian cuisine. As the cocktail session commenced guests enjoyed the balanced flavours of the Cote Du Rhone Blanc, Somorens 2022.
They were treated with Cod Tartare Masala, Deep Fried Morning Glory Cheese Chicken Croquettes.
This was followed by the soup of the evening, consisting of Sabah Lobster Sorba paired with Saint Péray Blanc, le Mialan 2022.
Next was the Tandoori Seafood Mousse Mango Chutney, Mint Gel paired with the Gigondas Rouge, Les Murailles 2020. This was followed by the Hermitage Rouge, La Matinier 2021 and the Côte Rôtie Rouge, Montmain 2020.
For the mains, guests enjoyed the Ginger & Coriander Crusted Chicken Tikka Bell Pepper Ragout and the Beef Rendang Short Ribs, Coconut Serunding Pumpkin Curry Puree.
According to Jean, this trip offered him a chance to meet with his distributors and also the end users of their range of wine brands.

Meanwhile, the Ferraton Pere & Fils brand has a rich history dating back to 1946. The vineyard’s annual production is around 750,000 bottles.
Last but not least, the great evening which brought much camaraderie among guests was put together by the team from S.H. Maju Sdn Bhd.
