The date February 24, 2024, marks two-years since the start of Russia’s full-scale military invasion of Ukraine. 

In conjunction with the momentous date, the office of the Consulate of Ukraine in Penang held an art exhibition at their premises along Green Hall here.

Present to welcome guests was the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Penang Dato Seri Chuah Kim Seah and his team.

Lending support was Dato Dr Amal pritpal, the Consul of Bangladesh in Penang, Dato Sheikh, Consul of Brazil in Penang, Dato Annie Chin and the Consul of Poland in Penang, Dato Suppiah among others. 

More importantly, the exhibition was to remind that the Russian aggression against Ukraine started much earlier on 19 February 2014. 

Ukraine has shown its readiness to fight against the Russian aggressor and the world has shown its ability to unite in supporting Ukraine and the global security architecture.

Guests were shown a documentary screening and along with an exhibition of iconic photos taken by Ukrainian photographers showcasing pivotal moments from the two years of full-scale invasion.

The main objective of the get-together was to shed light on the continued full-scale Russian aggression against Ukraine, now entering its second year, and to highlight its profound consequences. 

Through the exhibition, guests were able to visualise examples of Ukrainian life and capture moments of heroism, suffering, hope, and victory.
