The office of the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Penang will hold a photo exhibition on the on-going war in Ukraine from Friday, February 24 till Sunday Feb 26, 2023 at the Straits Quay Retail Marina.

Some 50 exclusive photos contributed by the Ukrainian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur will be displayed for the benefit of the general public.

Members of the public are invited to view for themselves the atrocities and massive devastation due to the bombing and on-going battle to safeguard the country.

Hon Consul of Ukraine in Penang, Datuk Seri Chuah Kim Seah hosted a press conference here to brief media members on the up-coming photo exhibition from 3pm onwards on Friday.

“Come Feb 24, 2023 marks the full-scale war that has been going on for a whole year. Some 50 iconic photos by Ukrainian and foreign photographers will be on display at our exhibition.

“The main objective of the photo exhibition is to draw attention to the full-scale Russian aggression against Ukraine, which has been going on for a year now.

“It has great consequences, like death to innocent people, mass destruction of buildings and infrastructure and the disruption of world trade,” said Chuah at the press conference.

Before the war, Ukraine was known as the biggest exporter of wheat, miller, sunflower oil and other minerals to the whole world.

He also added that the exhibition is a visual embodiment of the heroism, suffering, hopes and victories of Ukrainians.

“We encourage members of the public to come visit the exhibition and show solidarity to the Ukrainians,” said Cheah in his ending note.

There will also be a donation box for those who wish to support Ukrainians with medicine, food, and other humanitarian aid and basic necessities.

Entrance to the photo exhibition is free of charge.
