The Electronics Manufacturing Expo Asia (EMAX) and Penang Manufacturing Expo (PMAX) 2024 is currently underway at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre here.

Participants from 40 countries, 200 leading brands and 8,000 visitors are expected to attend the expo over the next three days.

The expo will last till Friday July 26, 2024.

Among the participants are chip manufacturers and semiconductor suppliers to equipment providers and industry experts.

Guest of honour was Dato’ Loo Lee Lian, chief executive officer of Invest Penang who was accompanied by the CEO of Fireworks Trade Media Group, Kenny Yong, Country Manager of NRG Exhibitions (M) Sdn Bhd, Ms. Celine Loo and EMAX & PMAX Advisor, J. Philip Vincent.

Also present was the CEO of Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau, Ashwin Gunasekeran,

Director of MIDA, Muhammad Ghaddaffi Sardar Mohamed, director of Matrade Penang, Ms Saudah Mat Isa.

Also present was HE Mr Zhou Youbin, the Consulate General of the Republic of the People’s Republic of China in Penang. 

The event serves to unite industry leaders and stakeholders to showcase advancements and to foster collaboration in the electronics and manufacturing sectors.

Penang serves as the ideal city for these expos, given its vibrant electronics and manufacturing ecosystem, strategic location, and supportive business environment. This is the hub for electronics and manufacturing, contributing significantly to Malaysia’s GDP and providing jobs for Malaysians.

There are also a wide range of exhibitors, seminars, and networking opportunities, providing attendees with valuable insights to technologies, trends, and best practices shaping the industry. The industry is embracing advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and automation 2.0.

The gathering is supported by the Malaysia Semiconductor Industry Association (MSIA), Penang Skills Development Centre (PSDC), Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB)

The Singapore pavilion also saw a diverse range of products and innovation on display.

One of the exhibitors was EVS International led by Jason Norman from the United Kingdom who played their recycling machine or solder recovery system. The system helps save cost and labour for the user.
