The Eastin Hotel Penang ushered in the Year of the Snake in grand style recently with a time-honoured and vibrant Lion Dance performance that delighted guests, staff and onlookers alike.

The spectacular celebration of Chinese New Year marked the beginning of a promising year of fortune, prosperity and success, encapsulating the essence of tradition with a modern twist.

The energetic lions, embodying the mythical Qilin, gracefully moved through the hotel’s outlets, casting away negativity and welcoming auspicious energies.

With their acrobatic moves, they tossed coins and feasted on “Fatt Choy,” a symbolic vegetable representing prosperity. Their lively antics were complemented by the joyful sounds of the drums, creating an unforgettable atmosphere of excitement and positive energy.

The grand highlight of the evening was the symbolic platter of prosperity presented to Eastin Hotel’s leadership team, including Chairman Dato’ Tan, Director Arthur Chen, and Hotel Manager Ms Winnie Suzan Yip.

This elegant display of intricately carved fruits epitomised blessings and well-wishes for the year ahead.

As the evening unfolded, guests were invited to partake in the joyous tradition of Yee sang in a vibrant H-uLar-La celebration. Led by the hotel’s management team, guests tossed the symbolic ingredients high into the air, exchanging wishes for good luck, wealth, and harmony.

This festive gesture was the perfect conclusion to a memorable celebration, filled with laughter, camaraderie, and the promise of a prosperous Year of the Snake.

Guests, both corporate and tourists, were charmed by the lions’ acrobatic displays, eagerly posing for photos with the troupe, making the event a lively and heartwarming tribute to the rich cultural heritage of the Lunar New Year.
