The Deputy Chief Minister of Penang 11, UN Jagdeep Singh Deo is currently on his working trip to India and stopped over at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Mumbai.
The IIT is one of the leading universities and learning centres in the world
The Indian Institute of Technology(IIT), a 500 acres campus with 15,000 students who have expressed interests in a possible exchange programme for students and scholarships which are extremely important to Penang.
Jagdeep added that Penang has over 450 MNCs, 6000 SMEs and is growing. Penang, also known as the Silicon Valley of the East, is a key player on the world scene in this industry.
In the meantime Jagdeep was also invited by the Honorable Speaker of Maharashtra, Kalidas Kolambkar in Mumbai.
Also present were other senior government officials and government agencies to discuss international strategic collaborations in areas such as education, scholarships, talent development, infrastructure, science, technology, affordable housing and high-tech industries.
He also expressed his heartfelt thanks to both our Consulate General of Malaysia in Chennai, Saravana Kumar and Mumbai, Ahmad Zuwairi Yusoff for their assistance throughout the visit.
