The Embassy of France in Malaysia organised a sports event on yesterday (March 14) to celebrate the 500 days landmark before the launch of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris.
The event was organised at the French School of Kuala Lumpur with the participation of students representing over 40 nationalities. The activities included swimming, running and wheelchair basketball.
H.E. Axel Cruau, Ambassador of France to Malaysia, recalled the objectives of this event aimed at promoting the Olympic spirit and its values throughout the world thanks to the participation of more than one hundred embassies.
He also underlined the importance given by the Olympic Committee to place the Olympic and Paralympic Games on the same level.
The guest-of-hHonour of the “Relay Around the World” event was the Minister for Youth and Sports, YB Hannah Yeoh.
The Minister stated Malaysia’s ambition to win at least one gold medal at the next Olympic Games. She emphasized her government’s efforts to strengthen sports activities among Malaysian youth.
