Mercure Langkawi Pantai Cenang welcomes its new Executive Chef, Chef Zainuddin Daud, a culinary maestro with over 25 years of experience in the hospitality and food industry. 

A Langkawi native, Chef Zainuddin brings not only an impressive résumé but also a deep-rooted connection to the island and its evolving culinary landscape.

Chef Zainuddin’s culinary journey spans prestigious five-star hotels and luxury resorts across Malaysia. 

His last appointment was at The Dash Resort, where he led the kitchen with a focus on innovative presentation and rich flavours. His culinary prowess extends beyond local Malaysian favourites; he is equally well-versed in Western fare and Mediterranean cuisine, having honed his skills through a specialised crash course in the United Kingdom.

He had also served at the Pelangi Beach Resort, Langkawi and the Tanjung Rhu Resort too.

Now at the helm of the kitchen at Mercure Langkawi Pantai Cenang, Chef Zainuddin is already making his mark. 

He has introduced a dedicated vegetarian corner and launched a Mediterranean breakfast counter, catering to the evolving tastes of both international guests and health-conscious travellers. 

His focus on fresh, flavourful, and globally inspired offerings is helping shape a new era of dining at the hotel.

His deep understanding of Langkawi’s cultural and culinary evolution positions him as more than just a chef—he’s a steward of tradition, innovation, and local pride. Under his leadership, the hotel’s food and beverage experience is set to reach new heights.

Chef Zainuddin reports directly to General Manager – Danny Yeo on all operational and strategic kitchen matters, playing a key role in enhancing the guest experience at Mercure Langkawi Pantai Cenang.
