The Jerejak Island Resort is up and running again as they organised triple community projects at the resort.
To play a meaningful role in the community, they organised their first corporate social responsibility project (CSR) recently.
The one-day fun-filled programme was conducted when they hosted children from Rumah Anak Yatim Daerah Kuala Muda, Kg. Che Bema, Sungai Petani, Kedah.
Upon their arrival, the the kids were warmly welcomed by the resort’s general manager, Kitson Doss and his team at the resort.
Rumah Anak Yatim Daerah Kuala Muda is home for some 40 residents from the ages of eight to 17-years-old.
Most of the residents are either orphans or from broken families.
The programme began with an ice breaker fun activity lead by the resort’s recreation team member, Sadiq.
The children were encouraged to take part in all the activities and games such as blow and explode balloon, blow candy in flour, coconut bowling, football pool and other fun games.
Earlier in the day, a donation collected from Jerejak Island Resort staff was also given to the orphanage. Overall, the children and the participating staff enjoyed the day.
“Jerejak Island Resort is continuously on the lookout for community programmes to benefit the needy and underprivileged.
“Our second CSR for the day was with Mercy Malaysia where their representative, Chan Li JIn and team came and presented their donation boxes to our resort,” said Kitson.
He added that the donation box will be kept at the resort for two months.
Members of the public are welcomed to contribute when they stay or visit Jerejak Island Resort.
“As our third CSR for the same day, Jerejak Island Resort, celebrated Earth Hour where we switch off all the garden lights and had minimum lights switched on from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm,” said Kitson.
