With only today remaining for campaigning for the state elections, a last push effort to meet and greet residents in Taman Free School was held last night.

The 1,000 strong residents turned up in full force to show support and cheered the speakers.

Leading the rally cry was led by Lim Guan Eng (MP Bagan) along with Penang caretaker government’s committee chairman for Housing, Local Government, Town and Country Planning, Jagdeep Singh Deo, RSN Rayer (MP for Jelutong), Teh Lai Heng and Lim Siew Khim among others.

“Being one of the oldest flats in the state is this flats area with 28 blocks of housing. “We have already repaired the lifts, repainted the buildings and also water tanks here. This is our work as your representative.

“Our manifesto of providing affordable housing has achieved 70 per cent of our target of 220,000 or 156,000 units currently.

“This affordable housing programme is available only in the state of Penang,” said Jagdeep in his address.

He also added that in line to tackle climate change, we have also planted 465,000 trees all around the state and also implemented smart initiatives like smart parking, solar panels and other positive initiatives.

Also in his element was RSN Rayer who spoke at length on carried out their mandate for the people and well being of the community.
