The Crime Consciousness & Public Safety Society (CCPSS) aims to reduce the risk of crime victimization and increase cooperation between the community and public safety authorities.
Its chairman Dato Mohamad Anil Shah said that they want to instill greater public consciousness on the vulnerability of crime victimization and increase understanding of public safety by sharing knowledge and promoting trust and cooperation between the community and public safety authorities.
“Among our strategies include working with parents, collaborating with residents’ associations, interacting with corporations, networking with other like minded groups, engaging with authorities and harnessing social media platforms.
“Last but not least , we want to also get people involved with our activities,” said Anil Shah to Penang Hyperlocal.
He also added that in recognition of their efforts, the patron of CCPSS is the Governor of Penang Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak who had agreed to support them.
In line with their vision, CCPSS organised a forum to bring together many of the non-government organisations (NGOs) in Penang for a briefing in line with the reopening of international borders wef tomorrow (April 1, 2022).
Lending support was Penang State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy Yeoh Soon Hin and other heads of departments.
Among them were Hon Consul of Brazil in Penang Dato Annie Chin, Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) chief executive officer, Ashwin Gunasekeran, Jamil Abdullah from the Fire and Rescue Department, State Welfare Department’s Noraziana Ibrahim, Malaysian Association of Hotels Penang Chapter representative, John Kim among others.
