Emphasising education for our future will always be the priority.
Penang Deputy Chief Minister II YB Jagdeep Singh Deo carried out his annual “Back to School” programme held in Komtar recently.
Students from his Datok Keramat constituency received 500 vouchers to purchase school items.
The programme has been a regular feature since 2008.
To-date, they have given out a total of RM565,000 worth of vouchers to 8000 students.
“I am happy to officiate the yearly Back to School event for students at my Datok Keramat constituency. This is our way of helping the needy and making sure they get a sound education.
“Penang is a Family-Focused, Green and Smart State that Inspires the Nation”, added Jagdeep.
He also assured that such assistance will continue as the students are the future of the country.
Also present at the presentation ceremony were community leaders, parents and headmasters of the various schools.
