ARTikarya is a program that started in 2019 in the Klang Valley. It offers a range of services to artists, including scanning and reproducing artwork, creating limited edition prints, and selling artwork through their online store (https://shop.artikarya.my). Using the Blue Ocean Strategy, artists’ edition prints are available for local and international markets.

The platform also offers a range of resources to help artists with their marketing and promotion efforts. By doing so, ARTikarya hopes to remove some of the barriers that artists face when trying to sell their work, such as high printing costs and limited exposure.

The latest addition to the website is an augmented reality feature which enables the user to project an artwork of choice onto their own walls. This feature is supported on both Android and iOS devices.

Yeoh in his address hailed the launch of artiKARYA in Penang as will also serve to contribute towards the economy of the state.

“The launch of artiKARYA is not just about a new creative platform but the celebration of the state’s vision and direction towards the development of the creative economy,” said Yeoh.

“We are excited to launch ARTikarya in Penang and provide a platform for local artists to
showcase their work,” said the MD of Giclee Art Sdn Bhd, Wesley Wong. “Our aim is to create a community that supports and celebrates the creative talent in our country, and to help artists reach a wider audience.”

To celebrate the launch of ARTikarya in Penang, the platform will be hosting a series of
events and exhibitions featuring the work of local artists. These events will provide a platform for artists to showcase their work, connect with other creatives, and engage with the wider community.

“We are thrilled to be launching ARTikarya in Penang and look forward to working with local artists to help them promote and sell their artwork. We believe that art should be accessible to everyone, and we are excited to be playing a part in making that a reality.” said Wong.

Giclee Art Sdn Bhd is a grant recipient of Yayasan Hasanah in 2017 on the project entitled “Talent Development & Art Reproduction for Emerging Artists in Malaysia ”.

The objective of the program is to identify local creative talents in the field of visual art, including photography and digital art, and incubate them through mentorship and development programs to bring their work to mass commercialization in both domestic and global markets through highest quality art reproduction and giclée prints.
