Well traveled hotelier – Ms Pauline Chua, the general manager of Amari Johor Bahru was awarded the prestigious Brand Leadership Hospitality recognition at the BrandLaureate Awards 2024 ceremony.
The gathering was held at the premier Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur last night.
The delighted Chua shared his joy with her team and friends.
“I am honoured and very happy to receive this award. The team at Amari JB supported me all the way, without them there is no achievement”, says Pauline to Penang Hyperlocal.
Having spent the last five years in Bangkok, Thailand, she took up her new posting back in 2022.
She was the general manager at the Thai capital at the Shama Sukhumvit Bangkok and oversaw the Ekamai Gardens and the Emmaline Hotel Nan.
The Amari JB is the first Onyx hospitality group hotel in Johor Bahru, soon the Ozo will also be opened there too.
“We would also like to expand the product by bringing in other brands like Shama and other branding under Onyx Hospitality Group too.In this way, we can introduce both our countries and also merge culturally, traditionally to bring mutual benefit,” said Pauline.
Meanwhile the Amari Johor Bahru offers some 242 non-smoking rooms and suites. Being located in the heart of the JB city, they are only a walking distance away to the Komtar JBCC too.
Under her leadership, Amari Johr Bahru has become one of the leading hotels in the city hosting local and foreign dignitaries.
Prior to joining the ONYX group, she had also served in exotic countries Fiji, Papua New Guinea and even China.
