A brand-new Proton S70 awaits the winner of the grand prize at the Aspen–Klippa Penang Bridge International Marathon 2025 (PBIM 2025), set to take place on December 14, 2025.

The announcement was made at a press conference held at Komtar, attended by Penang Chief Minister YAB Chow Kon Yeow, State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy YB Wong Hon Wai, Aspen Group Managing Director Anilarasu Amaranaza, Proton Deputy Director/Head of Sales Ong Chee Wooi, representatives from Klippa/IKEA, among others.

“PBIM has become an iconic event that not only showcases Penang’s ability to host world-class sports tourism events but also brings significant economic impact to Seberang Perai, especially Batu Kawan,” said Chow. “Aspen–Klippa has played a key role in its continued success, and with Proton now coming on board, we see a strong example of public-private collaboration to elevate and rebrand iconic events for even greater reach.”

Wong, who also serves as the PBIM Chairman, highlighted that the 2024 edition generated substantial spillover effects for hotels, F&B outlets, and transport services across Seberang Perai. “Aspen–Klippa’s continued support, along with Proton’s participation this year, will further enhance the region’s visibility and elevate the experience for both local and international runners.”

This marks the second consecutive year the marathon will be held on the mainland, with over 20,000 runners from around the world expected to take part. In 2024, businesses in Batu Kawan and the wider mainland area reported brisk activity during the event. The top international participants last year hailed from Indonesia, Singapore, and China.

PBIM 2025 will feature competitive races in three categories: Full Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10KM Run.
