Hotel NEO+ Penang reopens Nov 1 and there is a new captain at its helm.
The city hotel is reopening for guests after being a low-risk quarantine centre briefly.
Ipoh-born Gulab Mahatam Rai leads a new team at the hotel which is part of the Indonesian based Archipelago International.
Fondly known as Gulab to friends, he had worked in several hotels on the island before moving here.
Prior to that he had also worked in Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Seychelles.
Locally, he had worked in various hotels and resorts in Malacca, Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, Pulau Redang and Genting Highlands to name a few locations.
Gulab hopes to bring much needed enthusiasm and gusto to the working environment.
The hotel features some 196 guest rooms and suites offering free high-speed Wi-Fi, LED TVs with international and local channels, home entertainment systems, tea and coffee makers and a writing desk with universal electrical outlets.
Hotel Neo+ Penang also features three meeting rooms, two function rooms, a restaurant, a rooftop swimming pool, a gym as well as a lounge and bar for private events, weddings, meetings and exhibitions.
“With interstate travel possible, we hope to make our mark as the desired choice of accommodation for location for travelers to Penang.
“Among our upgraded facilities is the coffeeshop at the lobby area, ” said Gulab.
