A “roof over one’s head” is the basic need of any human being.
In line with this altruistic aim, the Penang state government is on its way to deliver some 220,000 affordable homes for the people.
Penang state exco for Housing, Town and Country Planning, Jagdeep Singh Deo was in Tasek Gelugor recently to hand over their approval letters to the deserving new homeowners.
“We will continue to ensure delivery of affordable housing. Our target of 220,000 units ranging from RM42,000 to RM300,000 is on the horizon.
“I am confident we can achieve this or even more. We are now at beyond 120,000.
“This pandemic must not dictate us and we must continue with our work, whereby I am here at Tasek Gelugor to conduct a spot check at yet another Affordable Housing project sized up to 1,000 sq ft, with many facilities.
“I am happy to be here to distribute letters of offer for those who have been successfully selected. Stay Safe and Stay Healthy. We still have a long way to go in the fight against Covid19 and I am confident we can do it,” said Jagdeep in his address.
He also added that while we must focus on delivery of affordable housing to the people and therefore it is questionable why at this time there is a need for renovation at Sri Perdana at RM38.5 million which accounts to 917 units low-cost housing priced at RM42,000.
