Penang will come alive with music, creativity and community spirit on Saturday, 29 November 2026, as the Bridge of Hope Charity Concert takes place at the St Giles Wembley Hotel, Penang.
Curated as a community-driven charity concert, Bridge of Hope aims to bring people from Penang and Sarawak together through the transformative power of live music, local talent and the arts. More than simply an evening of entertainment, the event is built around a meaningful purpose — creating opportunities for emerging local musicians while raising vital funds for charitable causes serving communities in need.
The initiative was founded by Eva Tan and Lea Tan, who envisioned Bridge of Hope as a platform where music, art and social responsibility could come together. Through the concert, they hope to showcase the rich and diverse talents within the local community while encouraging individuals, businesses and organisations to play a part in giving back.
The name “Bridge of Hope” reflects the founders’ vision of building a bridge between communities — particularly between Penang and Sarawak — through shared experiences and a common commitment to helping others.
The concert will provide a high-visibility platform for emerging local musicians, performers and creative talents, giving them an opportunity to reach a wider audience while contributing to a worthwhile cause. At the same time, the event seeks to demonstrate how the arts and entertainment industry can become a powerful force for positive social impact.
A key principle of Bridge of Hope is that 100% of the profits generated from the concert will be donated to its charity beneficiaries. The funds raised will go towards supporting House of Hope, Penang, and NEEDS Malaysia in Miri, Sarawak, helping the organisations continue their work in supporting vulnerable individuals and communities.
Visitors can expect more than a night of live performances. The event will feature a variety of activities and community engagement opportunities running alongside the main concert.
These include a Photo Booth, Buskers & Talents, Corporate Sponsor Booths, Merchandise and Donation Booths, as well as an Art Booth showcasing creativity from the local community.
The combination of music, art, community participation and fundraising is intended to make Bridge of Hope an inclusive event where audiences can enjoy themselves while also learning more about the causes being supported.
For corporate organisations, sponsors and members of the public, the event also provides an opportunity to contribute in different ways, whether through sponsorship, donations, purchasing merchandise, supporting the participating talents or simply attending the concert.
The two beneficiary organisations represent the heart of Bridge of Hope’s charitable mission.
House of Hope, Penang is a community-based initiative that provides support and assistance to disadvantaged and vulnerable members of society. Its work focuses on helping people who may otherwise struggle to meet basic needs and access opportunities for a better quality of life.
Meanwhile, NEEDS Malaysia in Miri, Sarawak supports communities in Sarawak through voluntary welfare and community-based initiatives. By extending the reach of the fundraising effort beyond Penang, Bridge of Hope hopes to strengthen the connection between communities in Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia.
Through this cross-community approach, the organisers hope that the concert will not only raise funds, but also raise awareness about the importance of compassion, volunteerism and community support.
Bridge of Hope is ultimately about bringing people together — musicians and audiences, businesses and charities, Penang and Sarawak, and people from different walks of life — under one shared purpose.
The organisers invite members of the public, companies, community groups and supporters of the arts to come forward and be part of this meaningful initiative. By attending the concert, supporting the booths, contributing a donation or getting involved as a sponsor, everyone can help make a difference.
With music as its universal language and charity as its common purpose, Bridge of Hope hopes to build more than an unforgettable concert, it hopes to build lasting connections and a stronger culture of giving.
