Michael Farag has been appointed Acting General Manager of the Penang Marriott Complex, bringing with him a wealth of international hospitality experience and a proven track record in hotel operations and leadership.
An Egyptian national, Michael has built an accomplished career in the hospitality industry spanning many years and multiple markets.
Prior to his current appointment, he served as Multi-Property Director of Operations at the Penang Marriott Hotel, where he was instrumental in strengthening operational efficiency, elevating guest experience standards and supporting the hotel’s commercial and service performance across departments.
During his tenure, Michael played a key role in driving service excellence initiatives, enhancing team engagement, and ensuring consistent brand standards in line with Marriott International’s global benchmarks.
His hands-on leadership style and deep operational expertise have contributed to strong guest satisfaction scores and smooth day-to-day operations at the property.
In his new role as Acting General Manager, Michael will focus on maintaining operational momentum, fostering a culture of excellence and leading the team through its next phase of growth, while continuing to deliver memorable experiences for guests and stakeholders alike.
