The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) is proud to launch the National MATTA Fair, taking place from 5-7 September 2025 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur.

The Fair was officially graced by Surrendren Sathasivam, Deputy Secretary General (Management) representing YB Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, Minister of Tourism Arts and Culture, Malaysia.

Now in its 57th edition, this Fair marks the largest in its history, featuring a record-breaking 2,049 booths from 334 participating companies. Once again, MATTA Fair has earned its recognition as the Largest Consumers’ Travel Fair, by the Malaysia Book of Records.

The Fair showcases an expanded array of travel packages for domestic and international travel by licensed travel agencies, airlines, and hotels to meet the demand of the consumers for their holidays.

With the support of MATTA’s partners, the Fair is made possible through the commitment of Sabah as MATTA Fair’s Malaysia’s Favourite Destination, RHB Bank as the Exclusive Platinum Sponsor, Malaysia Aviation Group as the Official Airline Partner and Premier Sponsor, AmLeisure as the Fair’s Media Partner as well as Mayoly and Duria as sponsors.

Their contributions play an important role in ensuring the success of this MATTA Fair September 2025, making it a one stop centre for affordable flight tickets, food and healthy supplements.

As a leader in sustainable tourism, MATTA is proud to present the largest-ever MATTA Eco & Sustainable Tourism Initiative (MESTI) pavilion. This initiative is powered through collaborations with leading sustainability-focused brands including RHB Bank, Sabah Tourism Board, Penang Global Tourism, Resorts World Genting, Royal Selangor, AMPSPA, Easy Motorbike, and Pos Malaysia.

Through this meaningful step toward sustainability, MATTA has partnered with independent auditors to measure the carbon footprint of the MATTA Fair across all three days of the event. This initiative is about understanding the impact of the MATTA Fair and taking real action to enhance sustainable practices. MATTA is setting new standards for responsible and sustainable tourism events, while also strengthening its reputation among travellers, partners and industry leaders who value transparency and environmental stewardship.

In addition to all these excitements, here is everything you can look forward to at MATTA Fair September 2025:

“This MATTA Fair is a bold step toward a more sustainable and connected future. From its humble beginnings as a modest exhibition, we have now evolved into Malaysia’s largest and most recognised travel Fair, and today it stands as a symbol of how far our industry has come. Moving closer to Visit Malaysia 2026, the MATTA Fair is our way of telling the world that Malaysia is ready to welcome travellers not just with open arms, but with open hearts,” said Nigel Wong, President of MATTA.

“Domestic tourism has flourished with the first quarter of 2025 alone registering 69.7 million trips, representing 18.9% year-on-year increase. Clearly, travel has become an integral part of our way of life, whether in revisiting familiar destinations or discovering Malaysia’s hidden gems. Yet, beyond these promising numbers, it is essential for tourism to contribute meaningfully towards protecting our environment, empowering local communities and offering authentic experiences that reflect the spirit of Malaysia Madani, a vision grounded in sustainability, inclusivity, respect and shared prosperity,” said Surrendren.

Together, these efforts underscore MATTA’s steadfast commitment to strengthening Malaysia’s tourism landscape, both at home and abroad. By nurturing pride in the nation’s heritage and celebrating authentic travel experiences, MATTA aims to spark a deeper appreciation for the beauty and diversity that define Malaysia.

Also present at the launch ceremony was Sien Vee Loc, Head of Consumer Finance, RHB Bank Berhad, Syazwan Ahmad Sabri, Head Airlines Global Sales, Malaysia Aviation Group, Datuk Joniston Bangkuai, Assistant Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment Sabah, Julinus Jeffery Jimit, CEO, Sabah Tourism Board, Samuel Lee, Deputy Director General Promotion, Tourism Malaysia among others.
