Even hospitality professionals need a little time off.
The G Hotel Kelawai recently hosted the Open American 8-Ball Pool Tournament, drawing a record number of participants—including three female players—for a day of spirited, knock-out style matches.
Organising Chairman Bernard Krishnan, who also serves as the hotel’s Director of Food and Beverage, announced attractive prizes for the top players: cash awards of RM500, RM300, and RM100, along with food vouchers for the winners.
Among the participants were from the Amari SPICE Penang, Penang Marriott Hotel, Parkroyal Resort Penang, G Hotel to name a few.
While the competition was fierce, the atmosphere remained friendly and light-hearted, giving hoteliers a valuable opportunity to connect, unwind, and build camaraderie beyond the workplace.
Bernard added that this successful event marks just the beginning:
“We plan to host more events like this to strengthen the hospitality community,” he said.
Eventual winner was Pravin from Penang Marriott Hotel along with Naomi Bernard Krishnan winning the runners-up position.
