The Penang Marriott Hotel marked its first anniversary, celebrating a year of excellence in hospitality, community engagement and memorable guest experiences.
The milestone was made even more special with the hotel’s grand opening ceremony last year, graced by the Governor of Penang, Tun Dato’ Seri Utama Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak and David Marriott, Chairman of the Board, Marriott International.
Since its opening, the hotel has quickly established itself as a premier destination on Gurney Drive, setting new standards in luxury and service. Subash Basrur, the General Manager of Penang Marriott Complex, expressed gratitude to the hotel owners, valued guests, and dedicated associates who have contributed to its success.
“This past year has been an incredible journey of passion, dedication, and teamwork,” said Subash Basrur. “Hospitality is more than just business; it’s about creating meaningful experiences. We are proud not only of the exceptional service we provide but also of the strong connections we’ve built with our guests and the local community.”
Beyond hospitality, the hotel has actively given back to the community, raising MYR 40,000 for the Children’s Protection Society Penang through its ‘Beary Merry Christmas’ campaign and contributing MYR 60,000 to the National Kidney Foundation Malaysia through the ‘Road
to Give’ charity run, the largest in the region with 1,200 participants.
As Penang Marriott Hotel embarks on its second year, it remains committed to delivering unparalleled experiences, fostering innovation, and strengthening ties with local and international travelers. With a strong team and an unwavering commitment to hospitality, the hotel looks forward to achieving even greater milestones in the years ahead.
