Penang Governor Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak graced the Pongal festival held at the Youth and Sports Complex in Batu Uban.
Also present was the Education Minister YB Fadhlina Sidek and Penang Deputy Chief Minister 1 Dato’ Dr. Mohamad Abdul Hamid.

In keeping with tradition, Fuzi performed the milk pouring ceremony to mark the start of the gathering.
The Pongal festival is a harvest festival celebrated by the Indian community here and India.
The tradition is also to thank for a good harvest for the farming community.
The event also marked the largest replica of the Pongal pot measuring 5.21 metres by 4.43 metres recorded by the Malaysia Book of Record 2025.
Later, Fuzi also presented a certificate of appreciation for local comedian popularly known as Sathia who is known in the series “Pi Mai Pi Mai Tang Tu” in the Nineties.
The governor also hoped that the Pongal festival will bring happiness, prosperity for all and communities and faith.
