In anticipation of the inaugural IndiGo Airlines direct flights to Penang, a delegation from the Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) made an official visit to Chennai, India recently (Dec3).
The team was led by PCEB chief executive officer Ashwin Gunasekeran and his team.
A meeting with the officials of IndiGo Airlines was held at The Westin Chennai Velachery to announce the launch of IndiGo’s direct daily flights connecting Chennai and Penang.
The press conference was attended by Srinivasan Jayaseelan, Senior Manager of Sales Tamil Nadu for IndiGo, and Agnel Pinto, Associate Vice President of Sales (West & South India) for IndiGo.
The new direct flight is expected to enhance connectivity and strengthen ties between Chennai and Penang promoting tourism, trade, and cultural exchange.
The flight will depart from Chennai at 2.15am and arrive in Penang at 8.30am.
On its return journey, it will leave Penang at 9.30am and land in Chennai at 10.30am (IST).
The service will be operated using Airbus A320 aircraft with a capacity of 186 passengers, offering a comfortable and seamless travel experience for travelers.
In a related development, IndiGo Airlines will also fly direct to Langkawi from Bengaluru daily with effect Dec 16, 2024.
