IJM Land Berhad (“IJM Land”), developer of THE LIGHT, wishes to inform the public of a temporary lane closure and traffic diversion on the median of the George Town-bound route of Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu Expressway on July 31st, 2024.
This closure is necessary to facilitate construction works for THE LIGHT Interchange, which includes the construction of new elevated ramps connecting to THE LIGHT Waterfront Penang and the widening of Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu Expressway.
These infrastructure improvements are essential for supporting traffic capacity and improving road network connectivity.
To better manage traffic flows during the lane closure, IJM Land will implement a comprehensive traffic management plan throughout the construction period.
“We will also make adjustments where possible to mitigate the impact of the planned works.
“Any temporary traffic diversions or road closures will be scheduled during off-peak hours, specifically from 10pm to 5am, to minimise disruption to road users.
“We kindly seek the understanding and patience of all, as these changes are necessary for the safe implementation of the construction works”, read the press statement.
