Penang Chief Minister YAB Chow Kon Yeow launched the Ramadan Bazaar at Lebuh Queen in Georgetown earlier this evening.
His visit to the bazaar has been a regular feature in his itinerary for the past 20 years as it is under his Padang Kota constituency.
The bazaar is organised by Liga Muslim Pulau Pinang. Among the sponsors for the project are Mydin and Barakath.
The long awaited bazaar is not only awaited by the Muslim community but also non Muslim community and tourists.
Some 25 stalls have been put up selling local favourites like nasi kandar, murtabak, kueh much, sweets, fresh coconut, biryani and other local favourites.

Operating hours are from 2pm to 8pm.
“I wish to congratulate Liga Muslim Pulau Pinang for organising this bazaar. This bazaar also features the gastronomic dishes of Penang”, said Chow.
Chow reminded members not to waste food by overspending on food stuff.
He also congratulated Liga Muslim on celebrating its 70th anniversary this year.
Chow later performed the ribbon cutting ceremony and toured the various stalls and even tried his hand in cooking some of the dishes at the Ramadan Bazaar.
Present was the president of Liga Muslim Pulau Pinang Dato Haja Najmudeen Kader, deputy president Dato Dr Shahul Hamid and their committee.
