The Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia has relocated its branch from Beach Street to Gurney Paragon Mall.
The move is to further cement its commitment towards serving individual and business clients in Penang, by integrating with local communities and offering banking solutions that fit well into client lifestyles.
The relocation of the branch into the popular mall allows the bank to integrate into the lifestyle of its clients and to better cater to their needs, such as:
• Offering ease of accessibility to the bank’s services, wider availability of parking and lift access to the branch, along with improved safety and the latest technological upgrades its clients value – merging convenience, speed and simplicity
• Creating a modern and comfortable space to hold face-to-face interactions, personalised service or specialised support
• Meeting clients’ banking needs through one-to-one financial consultations with local advisors who can meld localised knowledge with international expertise and best practices
• Allowing clients to bring their pets to a dedicated pet-friendly corner while they bank
• Extending the branch’s banking days to Saturdays, operating from 10:00AM to 3:00PM
• Partnering the mall to hold festivities to further engage with clients

“Standard Chartered Malaysia’s new branch at Gurney Paragon Mall highlights our aspiration to be increasingly relevant for our affluent and emerging affluent clients in Malaysia. Penang remains especially close to our hearts as it marks the start of Standard Chartered’s history in Malaysia 149 years ago. It also reflects our promise to be here for good, as we further integrate into the lifestyles of the community by offering greater accessibility and convenience for our clients.
“Although lifestyles are increasingly digital, Standard Chartered understands the importance of
retaining the human element that technology alone does not provide to continue playing a vital
role in building and reinforcing trust and loyalty within communities. Our branches complement our digital proposition, as we seek to renew our focus on enhancing the banking experience, in line with our vision of becoming the leading digital bank with a human touch,” Sammeer concluded.
“Further boosting the engagement with the local communities is a series of localised Charity Fun
Runs that will kickstart in Penang, in the lead-up to the Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered
Marathon in October 2024,” he added.
