Wide smiles of 23 children from the The Salvation Army Penang Children’s Home was enough to make the hearts filled with joy at the G Hotel’s Christmas charity event held last Wednesday (Dec 18).
The hotel’s “A Time to To Give” programme running for the 11th year saw the management team from the hotel and guests coming together to host the children ranging from four to 15 years-olds.
General Manager, Michael Hanratty and said that this was the 11th consecutive year since 2008 that the corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme is being hosted by hotel.
“What these kids wish for are the simplest things such as daily necessities like stationeries, school bags, calculators, clothes, facial wash and many others.
“I had personally walked pass the wish tree every day to make sure that we do not run out of cards.
“There were a total of 161 wish cards hanging on the tree for all 23 children and eventually they received seven gifts each,” said Hanratty.
He also thanked Molex for their donation of Tesco cash vouchers worth RM600 to help the home with their daily operations.
On hand was hotel Director of Communications, Christina Tan and other management team of the hotel who mingled with the children and spread yuletide cheer.
The children also presented some song and dance numbers to entertain guests and showcase their talents.
