Some of the most exciting world music performers from Asia will be showcasing their talents at The Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) from June 23 to 25, 2023in Kuching, Sarawak.
The festival is proud to present a one-of-a-kind music experience that music lovers will not want to miss.
Chaturasam, a drum ensemble from India, will mesmerize the crowd with their drumming style fusion of traditional India, folk as well as modern-day percussion.
With the influence of strict Indian classical music, as well as different genres of music and drumming, they promise it’s going to rain rhythms and beats at the Rainforest World Music Festival this year.
From Japan, Kumi, an Internationally renowned Japanese percussionist and joy-affirming performer, has traveled with her vibrant music and zest from Africa to America to Asia and delivers a wealth of experience and boundless enthusiasm to each program she leads.
Focusing on drums and percussion instruments across Africa, America, and Asia in the drum circles, Kumi welcomes people to bring their own instrument to co-create the RWMF Rhythm Orchestra.
Audiences will experience a musical journey through the rich tapestry of Iranian contemporary folk music with Rastak, from Iran.
Their captivating performances are a testament to the cultural diversity of Iran, featuring an ensemble of traditional and folklore musical instruments that bring their music to life.
