Meet Jakranee Kalapen who hails from Khon Kaen city from Eastern Thailand.
The well travelled chef is the Thai chef at the Amaya Food Gallery at Amari Johor Bahru.
Her travels in the hospitality industry had brought her to the Middle East to cities like Doha, Abu Dhabi and Oman in the last 12 years.
She “dishes” out Thai favourites in the likes of Tom Yum, Som Tam, Pad Thai, Green Curry, Thai Fried Rice, Sticky Rice with mangoes and many other mouth watering dishes.
“I have been in Johor Bahru for the past six months and enjoy the work and new challenges here.
“I also like my colleagues and associates who are helpful and supportive. I always enjoy my travels and meeting new people wherever I work,” said the cheerful Jakranee, who had also worked in the Dusit Thani group, Shangri-La Group and Four Seasons hotels.
Meanwhile, the Food & Beverage team at the Amari Hotel Johor Bahru is led by its manager, Murthi Muniandy along with Executive Chef, Hairi Rahman whose department has some 50 members.
