YB Jagdeep with the city council team

In recognition of the sacrifices and dedication of the workers at the Penang Island City Council and Seberang Perai City Council, a whopping allocation of RM100,000 by both councils has been allocated.

The generous gesture is part of the Merdeka celebrations for the workers who are involved in the 3D services. They are namely, Dirty, Dangerous & Difficult.

On hand to recognise them at a simple ceremony was State Exco for Housing, Local Government, Town and Country Planning, YB Jagdeep Singh Deo.

“We will recognise our frontliners from both City Council’s come this Merdeka, for their services to Penangites.

“Our highest gratitude for the recognition by our Governor, for awarding medals to our 3D workers (Dirty, Dangerous, Difficult) recently from both City Councils.

“In conjunction with our up-coming Merdeka celebrations, we are happy to announce that both City Councils will also contribute RM100,000 for some 3,000 workers as a recognition of their services.

“Nevertheless, let us continue to be cautious even though we are in the endemic phase after the Covid19 pandemic, considering the other challenges that we are facing, including the climate crisis,” said Jagdeep in his brief address yesterday.
