The 22nd edition of the PSC-Cheetah International Soccer 7s Tournament 2023 ended on a high note with winners walking away with cash prizes and trophies. 

The eventual winners for the Grand Masters Plate Competition were Essex LaSallians who beat PISS FC by a margin of 2-1.

In the Masters Plate Competition, Trisakti from Jakarta, Indonesia beat local team Malaysian Grasshoppers by a score of 2-0.

For the Veterans Plate Competition, Port Rangers beat Hulhumale Vets from the Maldives by 4-1.

In the Grand Masters Main Competition, home team Penang Sports Club beat Port Rangers by 1-0 while the club’s S. Gobiraj was the Man of the Match.

For the Masters Main Competition, GAP FC from Jakarta overcame ADE H&A from Kuala Lumpur by 4-1 while in the Veterans Main Competition, MRM (B) beat GAP FC Jakarta by 12-12 in a penalty kick finish.

The tournament was launched by Penang Governor Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak on Saturday (March 4).

Present were organising chairman Dr S. Pandiraja along with advisors Dr Shankar, Pathumanathan, Michael Lim among others.

Others were PSC president Lee Aun Tiang, Choo Chee Woon, Cheetah Sales Director, Tony Singh, Director of Weston Corporation and Sherman Wt Tan, Carlsberg Senior Sales Manager.

A record number of 56 teams from Australia, China, India, South Africa, Brunei, Maldives, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sabah, Sarawak, Negeri Sembilan, Johore, Kuala Lumpur/Selangor, Malacca and Penang took part in the two-day competition.
