The International Women’s Day 2023 was organised by the Wawasan Open University at the Gleneagles Hospital Penang recently.
Some 120 guests attended the gathering.
Present to launch the event was State Exco for Social Development and Non-Islamic Religious Affairs YB Chong Eng.
Also present was Ms Ong Bee Leng, CEO of Penang Women Development Corporation, Datin Anna Yeoh, chairperson of JPWK Kadun Padang Kota, Ms Jasmine Emmanuel, Head of Department Wawasan Open University, Mr Kirubakaran Malapan, Ms Yong Zi Ling Chief Operations Officer of Gleneagles Hospital Penang among others.
The event was also to create public awareness and the need for early screening.
“It is important to take care of yourselves by eating good food and exercising regularly.
“Always maintain a healthy lifestyle and regular checkups,” she added.
After the formalities and introductions, Mr (Dr) Kirubakaran gave a talk on health and breast cancer to the participants gathered.
