The Gurney Paragon Mall started Covid-19 vaccinations under the Retail Industry Vaccination (RiVAC) programme.
On hand to witness the ceremony was Penang Chief Minister, Chow Kon Yeow.
“Some 6,000 doses have been allocated at the Gurney Paragon Mall. The daily injection rate of 1,200 doses will operate till Aug 20.
“Some 936 individuals had received their first Covid-19 vaccine shots on the first day (yesterday),” said Chow.
He also added that Penang is expected to receive 163,800 doses of vaccine supply in the third week of August.
“The shortage situation is temporary and we hope it will be back to normal by early next week or end of this week.
