With some 13 areas in Bayan Lepas, Penang placed under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO), much needed assistance like face masks (8,000), sanitizers (1,200 bottles), food items like flour, sugar, noodles, biscuits were contributed by the state assemblyman for Paya Terubong.

The various locations under the EMCO will be imposed from June 4 till June 17.

“This is a show of solidarity to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and also to help the residents in these areas.

“I am sure that the relevant goods will come in handy for the residents in these affected areas,” said state assemblyman for Paya Terubong who is also the State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy, Yeoh Soon Hin.

On hand to receive the contributions was the assemblyman for Bayan Lepas, Azzrul Mahathir Aziz who expressed his gratitude for the timely initiative.

Among the location placed under the EMCO are at Sri Bayu; Bayu Tiara; Bayu Nyaman; Halaman Murni; Bayan Permai; Bayan Tiara; Taman Ara Indah; Kampung Bukit; Kampung Perlis; Kampung Masjid; Jalan Mahkamah; Jalan Kampung Pak Lah and Lebuh Kampung Bukit.

Prior to this contribution, such aid had also been given out at Relau in December 2020.

“I hope that the contribution will help mitigate the suffering of the residents in these areas during these trying times. I also urge the residents to register for the vaccination as soon as possible,” added Yeoh.
