The brand new Holiday Inn & Suites is expected to be fully opened by mid-December this year.
Offering some 332-rooms, the hotel will be the first Holiday Inn brand on mainland Penang.
The other Holiday Inn Resort Penang in Batu Ferringhi had closed down in 2020 at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown.
The new hotel in Seberang Prai will also offer a pillar-less ballroom to accommodate 1,000 guests and cater for MICE events.
Among the other facilities include a coffeehouse, gym, swimming pool, yoga room and a total of 10 function rooms. They will cater for small and large meetings, conferences and seminars.
The move will augur well for mainland Penang as there are has several industrial areas in the likes of Mak Mandin, Batu Kawan, Bukit Tengah Industrial Estate, Sungai Tiram Industrial Estate, Prai Industrial area and more.
The hotel shares the same tower building as the Citadines Prai Penang or CPP.
The buildings are owned by Exopuri Group who are established and prominent developers for condos, apartments and office units.
Exopuri Group managing director Ng Kock Leong shared the latest update in his speech during the official launch of the Citadines Prai Penang.
The event was graced by Penang Chief Minister YAB Chow Kon Yeow along with State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy YB Yeoh Soon Hin.
