Joint Development Agreement signing ceremony by Hunza Land and State Housing Board

Hunza Land Corporation Sdn Bhd and the Penang State Housing Board signed a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) to undertake the building of affordable homes in Bukit Gedong here.

Dubbed the “The Millennia @ Bayan Lepas” , it will offer some 910 units measuring 900 sq ft and another 287 units measuring 700 sq ft.

The 8.7 acre land area will also include facilities like open areas, surau, swimming pool, car parks, shops and other facilities.

Present at the MOU signing ceremony was State Exco for Housing, Local Government, Town and Country Planning YB Jagdeep Singh Deo.

Also present was State Exco for Trade, Industry and Entrepreneur Development YB Dato Abdul Halim Hussain, State Financial Officer, Zabidah Safar and General Manager of State Housing Board, Ainul Fadilah Samsudi.

Representing Hunza Land Corporation Sdn Bhd was their chairman Dato’ Seri Khor Teng Tong and  managing director, Dato’ Khor Siang Gin.

“I am happy to note that the project will serve to overcome the housing shortage for the common people in Penang, especially the B40 and M40 groups.

“On this note, I have also increased the set target of affordable housing from 180,000 to 220,000 by 2030 and todate, we have reached 140,435 units or 63.8% presently,” said Jagdeep in his address.
